You will be blown away...

...after you have seen some of the *amazing* number sums learning we have been doing in Owlets class!

Wow!!

Using an ordinary table, a whiteboard pen, some shells and a HUGE quantity of nut-free yummy chocolates (left over from Christmas!), we were able to practice our number sums.

How fun!

Can you work out the following?  If so, please bring in your number sums to Owlets class to share.  What did you use to help you?

7 + 4 =

10 + 3 =

12 + 8 =

15 + 5 =

23 + 6 =

Rhyme of the Week...

Please practice our 'Rhyme of the Week'.

We will be changing the words to create our own silly version of this rhyme.

Thank you,

Miss Williams

Outdoor Learning dates...

Hello Everyone,

Throughout the year, all the children have access to Forest School/Outdoor Learning activities and we are developing our own 'Outdoor Area' on the school site.

'Forest School/Outdoor Learning gives your child the chance to be outside and to experience all that the natural world can offer.  they will have trhe opportunity to develop their social skills through working together with their peers as part of a team.  they will also learn about the flora and fauna in the area and how these change in the different seasons.  the children will also be necnouraged to become independent and therefore take responsibility for their own learning.'

The nature of Forest School/Outdoor Learning means that we will be outside in different weather conditions, including rain and colder temperatures.  therefore, your child will be required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear each session in order to fully take part.

They will need:-

A waterproof coat, not too thin or too padded
A long sleeved top
Long trousers
Plus socks (more than one pair if cold - especially when wearing wellies)
A hat (sun or cold weather)
Wellingtons or sturdy boots or even old trainers if the weather is dry

These items of clothing may get very dirty  so it would be advisable thar the children change out of their uniform at School and then into their Forest School/Outdoor Learning clothes.

Please ensure that all clothes are clearly labelled.

Please also let your child know that it is absolutely fine for them to get dirty whilst at Forest School/Outdoor Learning.

The dates for OWLETS CLASS Forest School sessions are:

*Tuesday 7th February

*Tuesday 28th February

*Tuesday 14th March

*Tuesday 28th March.

Thank you in advance,

Miss Williams

Rhyme of the Week...

Every week, a 'Rhyme of the Week' will be looked at by Owlets class children.  We will play around with the rhyme, changing words to make it sound particularly silly!

The 'Rhyme of the week' is:

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK...

How many labels for the following pictures can you write in 1 minute?

Make sure you bring your *special* learning into School to share with Miss Williams and your friends.
