Owlets Class Election...

It has been a particularly *exciting* afternoon in Owlets class.

We spoke about the General Election today including Teresa May, Jeremy Corbyn and Tim Farron.  We discussed how the voting process worked before going into groups and thinking about the following...

'If I was Prime Minister for an afternoon, how could I make Owlets class an even better place to be?'

The children's ideas (summarised) were as follows:

  • Georgia - A party or picnic
  • Jessica - New felt tip pens for Owlets class
  • Anna-Brooke - A new board game
  • Jake - Watermelon at snack time
  • Cassidy - A new puzzle or a Frozen Birthday cake

  • Clayton - To change the classroom and to set up the classroom
  • Jacob - To have a popcorn party
  • Viktoria - To have new pens for the classroom
  • Miss Williams - A PJ party
Here are the children writing down their chosen candidate and posting it into the voting box.

We counted the votes and...  JACOB and MISS WILLIAMS both received 3 votes each!

The children were then encouraged to vote for either Jacob and his popcorn party idea or Miss Williams' PJ party.

Owlets class cast their votes and the results were revealed...

It was tense!  Jacob was clearly happy with his vote!

A vote to Miss Williams!

Another vote to Jacob!

And another!

Oooo, a vote to Miss Williams!

And another vote!

Another vote to Miss Williams!

Jacob received a another vote!

Jacob had a vote!

Oooo, it's still rather tense!

Two votes for Miss Williams

The final result:-

* 10 votes to Jacob

*18 votes to Miss Williams

Tomorrow - FRIDAY 9TH JUNE, we will celebrate Miss Williams' victory by having a PJ party.

Please bring your PJ's in a bag to School tomorrow and we will change into them tomorrow afternoon.

As Jacob did so very well, we will also have his choice of popcorn whilst enjoying our PJ party!
